Question 392297: Write each function in vertex form:
y=x^+9x+8
I tried:
y=(x^+9x+20.25)+8+20.25
y=(x+29.25)+28.25
y=-2x^+5x
not sure on this one Found 2 solutions by Alan3354, stanbon:Answer by Alan3354(69443) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Write each function in vertex form:
y=x^+9x+8
Apparently you mean y = x^2 + 9x + 8
y=(x^2+9x+20.25)+8 - 20.25
y = (x + 4.5)^2 - 12.25

I tried:
y=(x^+9x+20.25)+8+20.25

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Write each function in vertex form:
y=x^2+9x+8
y-8 = x^2+9x
y-8+(9/2)^2 = x^2+9x+(9/2)^2
---
y+12.25 = (x+(9/2))^2
---------------
Vertex: (-9/2,-12.25)
