A window washer accidentally drops a bucket from the top of a 144 meter building.
The height h of the bucket after t seconds is given by the formula:
h = -16t^2 + 144
h = 0 when it hits the ground
-16t^2 + 144 = 0
-16t^2 = -144
Divide both sides by -16
t^2 = 9
t =
t = 3 seconds to hit the ground
