Hi,
solve
y^2+xy=2
x+y/2=3/2 y = -2x + 3
substitute y into frrst eqation
(-2x + 3)^2 + x(-2x + 3) = 2
4x^2 - 12x + 9 -2x^2 + 3x = 2
2x^2 - 9x + 7 = 0

x = 1 Or
x = 14/4 = 7/2 = 3.5
