Answer by elima(1433) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x2 - 3x + 2 = 0
a)Solve by factoring.
list factors of 2; 2 and 1, when added together they 2+1=3
(x-2)(x+1)=0
x-2=0 x-1=0
x=2 or x=1
b)Solve by completing the square.
Show work in this space.
subtract 2 from both sides;
-3x=0-2
half of 3=1.5;
add 2.25 to both sides;
factor;
(x-1.5)(x-1.5)=.25
take square root of each side;
=
x-1.5=.5
x=+/-.5+1.5
x=1; x=2
c)Solve by using the quadratic formula.
Show work in this space.
a=1, b=-3, c=2
so;
x=2 or x=1
=)
