Question 35342: I need some help on quadratic equations!! I'm not sure why a person doesn't bring the x2 or x down into the 2nd step of the equation!! If you can give me any advice on how to solve a quadratic equation please answer it please!

If y=ax^2+bx+c
the x=[-b+sqrt(b^2-4ac)]/(2a)
or
x=[-b-sqrt(b^2-4ac)]/(2a)
This is called the Quadratic Formula
and it works in solving all quadratic
equations.
