Question 339163: Michael is involved in such a violent hit that it sends his helmet straight up into the air with a speed of 2m/sec. What is the maximum height his helmet reaches?
In this question I really dont understand what other things you know in this question besides the 2m/sec.?
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Hint: The acceleration of gravity is 9.8 m/s^2 (ie every second, a falling object speeds up by 9.8 m/s). Hopefully, this is mentioned in your book. So the equation that models the height of the helmet is where 'x' is the time and 'y' is the height.
