Question 328148: How would I graph the following quadratic function and label the vertex.
f(x) = 2x^2-12x+10

Answer by nyc_function(2741)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let y = f(x)
y = 2x^2 - 12x + 10
Select a few values for x.
Plug each value INDIVIDUALLY into the equation and solve for y.
You will get points in the form (x,y).
Plot each point on the xy-plane.
Copy and paste the following link to see your graph.

As you can see, it is a picture of a parabola which opens upward. I knew that it was a parabola because the biggest exponent of your function is 2. All functions whose main exponent is 2 are called QUADRATIC and always produce a parabola.
