Question 327415: "A projectile is thrown upward so that its distance, in feet, above the ground after t seconds is h(t)= -14t^2 + 336t. What is its maximum height?"
Answer by Alan3354(69443) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
h(t)= -14t^2 + 336t. What is its maximum height?"
It's a parabola, so the max height is the vertex, at
t = -b/2a
t = -336/-28 = 12 seconds
-------------------
h(12) = -14*144 + 336*12
= 2016 feet
-----------
This would be on some other planet, where gravity is 14 ft/sec/sec, btw.
