If the solution to a quadratic equation are:
and then the factors were:
and so to find the original quadratic equation, just multiply these two factors:
= Simplify this to:

We just do it backwards:

If we had started with a quadratic equation,
solved it and found the solutions were -3 and -2,
we would have ended up with this:

   x = -3    and   x = -2

Before that, we would have had these two equations:

 x + 3 = 0   and   x + 2 = 0

Before that, we would have had this product:

     (x + 3)(x + 2) = 0

Before that we would have had that FOILed out
before it was factored:

      x2 + 5x + 6 = 0
