Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(x - 1)^2 = -49
X^2-2X+1=-49
X^2-2X+1+49=0
X^2-2X+50=0
x=(2+-sqrt{-2^2-4*1*50])/2*1
x=(2+-sqrt4-200)/2
x=(2+-196i)/2
x=(2+-14i)/2
x=2/2+-14i/2
x=1+-7i ans.
