Question 288874: Find the exact complex number solutions to the quadratic equation using the quadratic formula....
-5x^2=-5x+6=0
I guess the two "=" signs are throwing me off.
I moved the -5x^2 to the right to get rid of the negative value.
Making the equation
5x^2-5x+6=0
Quadratic Formula:
-b +- square root b^2-4ac/2a
a=5 b=-5 c=6
-(-5)+- square root (-5)^2-4(5)(6)/2(5)
Disregarding imaginary numbers; I came up with "No Real Solution"
as my answer was
5+- square root -95/10
Am I correct?
Thank you for your help
Answer by richwmiller(17219) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The two equal signs should throw you off.
They shouldn't be there.
I would think the first should be + but there is a =- sign
You could just remove the first = sign and use the - that follows it.
You need to find out what the real problem is.
We could guess all day and night
