Question 278733: This question deals with solving the quadratic equation by using the quadratic formula. The question is x^2=18-7X. I know the formula is ax^2+bx+c=0, A does not equal 0. I've looked at the formula, but have no idea how exactly to use it. ANy help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

ax^2+bx+c=0 is the general form of a quadratic equation

the quadratic "formula" is derived by using the "completing the square" technique on the general equation

x = [-b ± sqrt(b^2 - 4ac)] / (2a)

put the equation in general form (equal to zero) and then plug the resulting values for a, b, and c into the formula
