what are the factors of this equation
m^2 -14m +48
Think of two numbers whose product is 48 and whose sum is -14.
The numbers are -8 and -6.
---
Replace -14m by -8m-6m:
m^2 -8m-6m + 48 ---
Factor the 1st two and the last two terms separately:
m(m-8) -6(m-8)
(m-8)(m-6)
