1.) Multiply by m to get:

2.) Subtract 12 from both sides to get:

3. Solve for m using your favorie method of solving quadratics.

2m^2-16m-12=0
2(m^2-8m-6)=0

m=(8+-sqrt[-8^2-4*1*-6])/281
m=(8+-sqrt[64+24])/2
m=(8+-sqrt88)/2
m=(8+-9.38)/2
m=(8+9.38)/2
m=17.38/2
m=8.69 ans.
m=(8-9.38)/2
m=-1.38/2
m=-.69 ans.
