Question 264597: 2a-5b=4
5a-2b=3
Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2a-5b=4 multiply by 5
5a-2b=3 multiply by -2 & add.
10a-25b=20
-10a+4b=-6
-------------
-21b=14
b=14/-21
b=-2/3 ans.
2a-5*-2/3=4
2a+10/3=4
2a=4-10/3
2a=(4*3-10)/3
2a=(12-10)/3
2a=2/3
a=(2/3)/2
a=2/3*1/2
a=2/6=1/3 ans.
Proof:
5*1/3-2*-2/3=3
5/3+4/3=3
9/3=3
3=3
