First, we need to get everything on one side so with this 2y^2+5y=3 Subtract 3 from both sides to give us:
2y^2+5y-3=0 Now we can factor this:
(2x-1)(x+3)=0 Solve for x to get:
2x-1=0 Add 1 and divide 2 into both sides results in:
x=1/2 And
x=-3
