Question 26270: I am horrible at word problems, and am stuck on this one. Can anyone offer any assistance?
The number of pens sold varies inversely as the price per pen. If 4000 pens are sold at a price of $1.50 each, find the number of pens sold at a price of $1.20 each.
Thank you!!
Answer by Paul(988) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4000 pens are sold at 1.50
x number of pens are sold at 1.20
1.2x=4000(1.5)
1.2x=6000
x=5000.
Hence, 5000 pens are sold at $1.20.
Paul.
