Question 260286: i don't really understand the nature of roots in a quadratic function. it says: for what values of k does kx^2-2x+3=0 have two different real roots? i'm not sure what to plug in or how to continue on from here...
Answer by edjones(8007) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
kx^2-2x+3=0
b^2-4ac=discriminant. If it's >0 then the roots are real and different
4-12k>0
-12k>-4
k<1/3
