Question 24645: for the eqation x-square root of x=0 solve for values of x,then graph y=x and y=square root of x
Answer by quentin252(19)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x - = 0
implies x = (by adding to both sides of the equation)
-> x^2 = x (square both sides)
-> x^2 - x = 0
-> quadratic equation : (-(-1)+- )/(2*1)
-> = (1 +- )/2 = (1 +- 1)/2 = 0/2 or 2/2 = 0 or 1
now when graphing simply use intersection pts (0,0) and (1,1)
y=x is straight line with slope 1
as for the other, just pick a few points then draw the curve
(1/2,)=(1/2,/2) is another good pt to start with
