Question 246216: did not know which one this would fall under:
a) solve by using a sign chart: x^2-x-12>0
b) x-3/x+4< or =0
Answer by edjones(8007) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
b) (x-3)/(x+4)<=0
We have to find inflection points.
when x=3 y=0
when x cannot equal -4 because there will be division by zero.
x=3 and x=-4 are inflection points.
We take points on either side of the inflection points to see if y is positive or negative.
x=-5 then y is +
x=0 then y is -
x=5 then y is +
So (x-3)/(x+4)<=0 when
