Question 242005: Hello,

Please help me with:
1. Evaluate the function f(x)=x^2+2x+9 at the given values of the independent variable and simplify.
a. f(-2) b. f(x+9) c. f(-x)
a. f(-2)=______________________
Thanks so much for your help!!

Answer by dpaulin(12)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
f(-2) is basically asking what value is f(x) when x equals -2
so plug it into the equation
(-2)^2+2(-2)+9 simplify
f(x+9)
(x+9)^2+2(x+9)+9 simplified gives you
x^2+81+2+2x+18 combined like terms
=x^2+2x+101
I hope that helps...
