Question 230711: For each function,(a) determine whether the graph opens upward or downward,(b) find the axis of symmetry,(c)find the vertex,(d)find the y-intercept, and (e)graph the function.
g(x)=(x-1)to the power of two

I tried putting the equation in standard form which would come out as x to the power of two plus x plus 1. I know what "a" is and "c" but I can't seem to find out "x" because the answer I came out with, which was 1/2, is different form the book which does not give an explanation.
