You need to remember that (a-b)(a+b) = a^2-b^2

Divide: (4 + 2i)/ (4 � 2i)
------------------------
Multiply numerator and denominator by 4+2i to get:
(4+2i)^2/(4^2-(2i)^2)
----
Simplify:
[16 + 16i + (2i)^2]/ [16+4]
---
[16 +16i -4]/20
---
[12+16i]/20
---
[4(3+4i)]/20
---
(3+4i)/5
