Question 205548: I am having problems finding the solution for the body mass. Can you help me, I appreciate it.
The body mass index, I, can be used to determine and individual's risk for heart disease. An index less than 25 indicates a low risk. The body mass index is given by the formula, or model, I= 700w/H2, where w=weight, in pounds, and H=height, in inches. Frank weighs 170 pounds and stands 68 inches tall. What is his approximate body mass index? Find an inequality describing all weights that Frank can have and be in the low rist category.

-------------
I = 700*170/68^2 = 25.74
-------------------------
If I < 25 then:
700*w/68^2 < 25
w < 25*68^2/700
w < 165.14

If this is the formula
then solution is correct
1. plug in values given
a.
-> = 25.74
Frank's Index is 25.74
2. Find the inequality
a. 25 is the highest Index that a person can have and still be in the low risk category
b. so plug in that value into the equation and remember the question asked for all the weights not heights which means height is constant, and solve for weight
i.
->
->
->
->
->
->
c. so the weight at the limit is 165.14lbs which means that any weight under that will be in the low risk category
d. so the inequality is
