Question 199362: Linear Systems
5.Explain why the following linear system has no solution.
y-2x=1
y=2x+3
Thankssssssssss!!!!!!!!!
Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y-2x=1
y=2x+1 (red line)
y=2x+3 (green line)
(graph 300x200 pixels, x from -6 to 5, y from -10 to 10, of TWO functions 2x +1 and 2x +3).
As you can see these 2 lines are parallel thus no intersection & no solution.
