Question 194266: How do I solve this equation using the quadratic formula?
3x^2-6x=1
Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3x^2-6x=1
3x^2-6x-1=0
x=(6+-sqrt[-6^2-4*3*-1])/2*3
x=(6+-sqrt[36+12])/6
x=(6+-sqrt48)/6
x=(6+-6.9282)/6
x=(6+6.9282)/6
x=12.9282/6
x=2.1547 ans.
x=(6-6.9282)/6
x=-.9282/6
x=-.1547 ans.
