I am having a meltdown with Quadratic equations, vertexes and intercepts. Could someone please help me uunderstand this problem?
Solve the inequality. State the solution set using interval notation and graph it:
a^2 + 2a is less than or equal to 15.

a^2 + 2a < 15
a^2 + 2a -15 < 0
(a-3)(a+5) < 0

Taking each case seperately,
(a-3)< 0
a< 3

a+5< 0
a< -5

a< 3
a< -5

Hence we can simply write a<3
