5. Find the point of intersection of each pair of lines.
e) x-2y-2=0
3x+4y-16=0
Pleaseeeeee can you help me? thanksssssssss

Answer by vleith(2983)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
rearrange to isolate x on one side and everything else on the other. So Add 2y+2 to each side to get

Now use this value for x and substitute it into the other equation

Now use this value of y and solve for x

You can check your answer by verifying the point (4,1) is a solution to both equations.
Does for (4,1)

which is true. So that works
Does for (4,1)???

which is true.
the point where those two lines intersect is (4,1)
