It is just a matter of factoring by Reverse FOIL. you play with the factors of the coefficients of term and constant term
:
so once you factor as above
:
3x+1=0
:
3x=-1
:
x=-1/3
:
2x+1=0
:
2x=-1
:
x=-1/2
