If two roots of a quadratic is:
-3/4, -2/3
then the quadratic must have the following factors:
(x+3/4), (x+2/3)
.
To get our quadratic, we multiply the two factors together using FOIL:
(x+3/4)(x+2/3)
x^2 + 2/3 x + 3/4 x +6/12
x^2 + 8/12 x + 9/12 x + 1/2
x^2 + 17/12 x + 1/2
x^2 + 17x/12 + 1/2 (this is what they're looking for)
