Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x^3+5x=79.4
x^2+5x-79.4=0
Using the quadratic equationwe get:
x=(-5+-sqrt[5^2-4*1*-79.4])/2*1
x=(-5+-sqrt[25+317.6 ])/2
x=(-5+-sqrt342.6)/2
x=(-5+-18.51)/2
x=-5+18.51)/2
x=13.51/2
x=6.755 ans.
x=(-5-18.51)/2
x=-23.51/2
x=-11.755 ans.
