Answer by Earlsdon(6294)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Write in standard form and determine the values of a, b, and, c.
.
The standard form is:
so we need to get your equation into this form.
Add 17x to both sides of the equation.
Combine like-terms on both sides.
Now add 2 to both sides.
Again, combine like-terms.
You equation is now in standard form. Now compare this with the standard form:

You can readily see that: a = 3, b = 27, and c = 10

Answer by aswathytony(47)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
standard form of a quadratric equation is ax^2 + bx +c = 0.
given equatiion should be written in that form .
3x^2 +10x + 8 = -17x -2
bring like terms together,
3x^2 + 10x + 17x +8 +2 =0.
3x^2 +27x +10 =0.
compare the above equation with standard form, we get a = 3 , b = 27 & c = 10.
