Question 144530: I need help with this word problem: The instructions are to use the discriminant to determine the number of solutions of the quadratic equation, and whether the solutions are real or complex. Note: It is not necessary to find the roots; just determine the number and types of solutions.
Steve traveled 200 miles at a certain speed. Had he gone 10mph faster, the trip would have taken 1 hour less. Find the speed of his vehicle.
