Question 142656: Use the intercepts to graph the equation.
x + 3y = 6
HELP PLEASE!!

Answer by checkley77(12844)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
X+3Y=6
3Y=-X=6
Y=-X/3+6/3
Y=-X/3+2
IF Y=0 THEN:
0=-X/3+2
-X/3=-2
-X=-2*3
-X=-6
X=6 OR (6,0) IS THE X INTERCEPT.
SETTING X=0 THEN:
Y=-3*0+2
Y=2 OR (0,2) IS THE Y INTERCEPT.
(graph 300x200 pixels, x from -6 to 8, y from -10 to 10, -x/3 =2).
