Question 140475: for the derivative value I need to show tongant line in graph? Thanks
Given y=X^2
at x = -2
So far I have
At X=-2, the derivative is 2(-2)= 0 (please show graph).
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
f(x)=x^2
dy/dx = 2x
f'(-2) = -4 (slope of y=x^2 at (-2,4)
--------
Equation of line with m=-4 passing thru (-2,4)
4 = -2*-4 + b
b = -4
----------
EQUATION:
y = -4x -4
