Question 138539: Solve: -10 <_ 3x-9 <_ -2 (the _ are supposed to be under the <)
{x | ?? <_ x <_ ??} (again the _ is supposedto be under the <)
Can someone hlp me with this. Do i add 2 to each equation first??

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
-10 <= 3x-9 <= -2
-----------------------
Since you want to solve for "x", you work from the inside out.
Add 9 along the line to get:
-1 <= 3x <= 7
Divide by 3 along the line to get:
-1/3 <= x <= 7/3
