Please help me, it asks:
In the equation ax^2+bx+c=0, the value of b^2-4ac is called the discriminant of the quadratic equation. What does this value tell you about the real roots of the equation?
I solved this, and it turned out wrong. Please help me, Thank You=)
If a, b and c are all real numbers in , then:
The discriminant , when calculated, will either turn out to be a
positive number, a negative number or zero.
If turns out to be a positive number, there are two different
real roots.
If turns out to be a negative number, there are NO real roots,
but there are two different conjugate imaginary (complex) roots.
If turns out to be zero, then there is just ONE, not TWO, real
roots.
