Question 1323: what does the a, b, and c mean in the quadratic equation (ax^2+bx+c)?
Answer by usyim88hk(158)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
For example:
2x^2 + 4x + 8
Because the standard form of an quadratic equation is ax^2+bx+c, so that in the example equation 2x^2 + 4x + 8, a is equal to 2, b is equal to 4 and c is equal to 8
-----------------
2x^2 + 4x + 8
ax^2 + bx + c
-----------------
So do you see the relationship now???
2=a, 4=b, 8=c
