Let's write out the equation
(-4+2^2-(-1))/(-3+4-2)
First, take a look at the exponent 2^2. This will become 2*2, which then becomes 4
(-4+4-(-1))/(-3+4-2)
Then, let's combine like terms on both sides of the division line. Starting with the left, -4 plus 4 will cancel out to 0. Subtracting -1 is the same as adding +1, so you will end up with +1
1/(-3+4-2)
Then, you do the same to the other side. -3 and +4 give you a +1. +1 and -2 give you a -1
1/-1
As you can see, you should be able to simplify the answer down to -1 through division. Your answer is -1
