or
L(L-12)=50 for length multiplied by width
L^2-12L-50=0

L=(12+- sqrt(144+4*50))/2
L=(12+- sqrt(344))/2
L=(12+- 2sqrt(86))/2
L=6+- sqrt(86)
L=6+9.27
