You need to find the lengths of the two sides of the triangle that lie on the x=2 and y=3 lines. (Do you see that there are to lines? One is horizontal and has the value y=3 for any x value. The other is vertical and has the value x=2 for any y value.
Where does the line 8x+5y=40 cross each of those two lines?
That is, when x=2, what is the value of y? And, when y=3 what is the value of x?
Just put 2 for x in the equation of the line and calculate the value of y.
Then put 3 for y in the equation of the line and cluculate the value of x.
The length of one side of the triangle will be the difference between the calculated y and the y value of 3. The length of the other side will be the difference between the calculated x and the x value of 2. (Us the absolute value of the difference.)

With those two sides you can calculate the area of the triangle.
You should get 1.0125
