Question 1145287: This question was set as homework (solve the equation "y = ax^2 + bx + c to find x in terms of y". I have come as far as getting all Xes to one side (as "((y-c)/x) - ax = b", however I am unsure how to move on as the question states in terms of y. Does this mean just to rearrange the equation or does it mean to write the equation using only Ys?
Answer by ikleyn(52781) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.
From your post, it is clearly seen that you don't know how to solve quadratic equation.
In this site, there are lessons that explain how to do it.
These lessons are
- Introduction into Quadratic Equations
- PROOF of quadratic formula by completing the square
Read them attentively and learn the subject from there.
Then try to solve your equation on your own.
If you still will have questions after that, come to the forum again with your questions.
