Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
X2/3 + 4X1/3 - 12 = 0
-----
Let w = x^(1/3)
Rewrite the equation:
w^2 + 4w -12 = 0
(w+4)(w-3)=0
w = -4 or w=3
-----------
x^(1/3) = -4
x = -64
--------------
x^(1/3)=3
x = 27
===========
Solutions:
x= -64 or x= 27
