Question 1087543: Can someone help me solve this Quadratic Equation by square root? If you could do it step-by-step I would appreciate but if it's too much work then it's okay, just don't bother.
3x² + 1 = 58
Also for this certain question my teacher has stated "(round your answers to the nearest hundredths place)".

Answer by ankor@dixie-net.com(22740)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3x² + 1 = 58
subtract 1 from each side
3x^2 = 57
divide both sides by 3
x^2 = 57/3
x^2 = 19
find the square root of both sides
x = +/-
x = +4.36
x = -4.36
