: Please help me solve this problem I got this problem from my textbook:
Quadratic Equations
Write the equation of the axis of symmetry, and find the coordinates of the vertex of the graph of each function. Identify the vertex as a maximum or minimum. Then graph the function.
y=x^2+2x
I understand the graphing part but when i did this problem i somehow got the line to be a crooked line instead of a parabola.
