Question 1038825: The function h(t)=-4.92t^2+17.69t+575 is used to model an object being tossed from a tall building, where h(t) is the height in meters and t is the time in seconds. Rounded to the nearest hundredth, what are the domain and range?

The domain of the function is all real numbers, but the domain of the model excludes anything less than zero and anything greater than the time it takes the object to strike the ground. Set the function equal to zero and solve for the positive root to find this value.

The range of the function is all real numbers less than or equal to 575, but the range of the model is 0 to 575 since the object can't fall through the ground.

My calculator said it, I believe it, that settles it
