We have the following ratio: 

5 cm    x cm
---- = -------
2 km    10 km




5%2F2=x%2F10 Start with the given ratio


%285%2F2%29%2A10=x Multiply both sides by 10


50%2F2=x Multiply


25=x Simplify



So our answer is x=25 which means that the map distance is 25 cm
