let y = the number of years for this to be true
=
cross multiply
5(y+5) = 3(y+11)
5y + 25 = 3y + 33
5y - 3y = 33 - 25
2y = 8
y = 8/2
y = 4 yrs time they will be 9 and 15 respectively 9/15 = 3/5
