Your proportion equation is correct.
----
To be sure about where to put the numbers I suggest
you 1st write the proportion in words, such as
mix/water = mix/water or water/mix = water/mix
---
Then substitute the proper numbers into the equation.
Then solve for the missing quantity.

Answer by TimothyLamb(4379)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3 3/4 = 15/4
---
4 mix / (15/4 water) = 6 mix / x water
4/(15/4) = 6/x
x = (15/4)*6/4
---
answer:
x = 5.625 cups of water
