There is a total of 352 carrots and radishes. The ratio of carrots to radishes is 5:3. How many are radishes?
---------
5:3 is the same as 5x:3x for x any positive number.
EQUATION:
Let carrots be 5x; let radishes be 3x.
5x+3x=352
8x = 352
x = 44
# of radishes = 3x = 132
